Computer Technology Support Specialist II
General Description:
This position provides Tier 2 technical support to state agencies with minimal guidance. The specialist works on desktops, laptops, software, printers, wireless mobile devices and VoIP-enabled equipment, and collaborates with higher-level technicians on projects.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, docks, and peripherals.
Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, patches and system configuration for operating systems and standard software.
Install, upgrade, and maintain computer workstation hardware and associated software.
Assist with server hardware support and manage user directory accounts.
Lead special projects such as agency migrations, equipment replacements, and mass operating system upgrades.
Escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians and track resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology or related field.
0–1 year of progressive work experience as a Support Technologist I, or 3–4 years of experience in a similar role.
Proficiency with imaging and deployment of systems.
Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing system (preferred).
Knowledge of Unified Endpoint Management systems and ITIL principles (preferred).
Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.
Physical ability to assemble and disassemble computer equipment.
