In this role, you will help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. ***It starts with YOU.***As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll provide mechanical engineering support to the Enterprise Capital Engineering, Mill Sustaining team. This role supports capital projects through the development, layout, design, installation, and start-up of equipment and ancillary systems to meet capacity, capability, innovation, safety, and obsolescence needs for the NA Tissue Value Stream. Additionally, you’ll collaborate across the Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, Tissue mill sites, key OEM equipment suppliers, technical service providers, and construction contractor networks. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager,

Mill Sustaining Capital, within the Enterprise Capital Engineering Team.**In this role, you will:*** Drive the development and execution of capital projects using the Kimberly-Clark North America (KCNA) Project Management Practices (PMP) process as projects are assigned* Provide leadership by example in safety, ethics, quality, regulatory, and sustainability, and ensure that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported* Coach and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute programs to improve Tissue value stream business results* Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes R&D, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and external service providers* Maintain technical and scientific expertise in technology and communicate impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark. This may include serving as a User Group lead in a specific area of technology or skill to drive learning as well as strategy for future projects/initiatives* Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend Kimberly-Clark proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. This includes completing required project documentation through EFS, EDR, and Appropriation activities and following PMP documentation including Corporate Financial Instructions (CFIs)Huggies. In one of our professional roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and themarket, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center.**To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline* 4+ years of related technical experience in mill, production or staff R&D environments* Strong PMP capabilities with successful experience collaborating with external engineering firms/TSP’s and OEM’s* Demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead a small team to complete projects within the required timeframe and budget ($100 thousand to $5 million budget)* Experience in the design requirements and safe operation of high-speed manufacturing and/or converting equipment and processes, with an ability to translate that knowledge to project deliverables in support of the product, process, and capacity improvements* Strong fundamentals in engineering systems and tools to drive technical innovation* Proven ability to establish strong, effective cross-functional network at enterprise level* Ability to lead and direct a diverse team of Kimberly-Clark members and external personnel to define and execute projects that successfully meet business objectives* Travel 25-30%, heavier travel may be required at times during project installations depending on duration or complexity of project**Preferred*** Paper industry experience, ideally with subject matter expertise in tissue machine and/or converting operations.
