Position Summary We are seeking a
Heat Treat Technician
to join our team. This role is responsible for performing heat treatment services on various industrial components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with field heat treatment equipment, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and be comfortable working in industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate heat treatment equipment to meet required specifications.
Monitor and adjust temperature controls, heating elements, and treatment cycles.
Perform on‑site heat treatment services, including preheat, post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT), and stress relieving.
Ensure proper documentation and record‑keeping of treatment parameters and results.
Inspect workpieces for defects or irregularities before and after treatment.
Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Maintain and troubleshoot heat treatment equipment as needed.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and customers to ensure job requirements are met.
Qualifications
Previous experience in heat treatment, industrial heating, or related fields preferred.
Familiarity with heat treatment methods, including resistance and induction heating.
Basic knowledge of metallurgy, welding processes, and industrial safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in extreme temperatures or confined spaces.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in heat treatment are a plus.
