Inventory Specialist
American Alarm and Communications, Inc.
Pay Range $25.00/hr - $32.00/hr
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities The scope of the Inventory Specialist role is to manage and maintain accurate inventory levels of security and fire system equipment across the company’s warehouses and service vehicles. This role involves receiving, organizing, and tracking inventory, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored. The specialist supports field technicians by preparing and distributing necessary equipment for jobs, performing routine audits to reconcile inventory records, and coordinating with purchasing teams to replenish stock.
Key duties include:
Track, record, and update inventory levels using inventory management systems to ensure stock accuracy across all locations.
Unload, inspect, and properly store incoming equipment and supplies, ensuring all items are labeled and accounted for.
Assemble and distribute required materials for service and installation jobs, supporting timely field operations.
Perform physical counts and reconcile discrepancies between actual stock and system records.
Communicate low stock levels and inventory needs to procurement teams and assist in forecasting demand.
Experience
2 to 3+ years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably in a related industry such as security systems or electronics.
Familiarity with computerized inventory systems and tools like Microsoft Excel.
Ability to maintain accurate records, perform regular audits, and ensure proper storage and labeling of equipment.
Meticulous in identifying discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and ensuring the quality and condition of inventory items.
Other job duties as assigned.
Education Requirement High School Diploma (Required). Candidates with relevant experience in inventory management or warehouse operations are preferred.
Physical Activities / Requirements
Manual dexterity and sitting required for own responsibilities (use of personal computers).
Ability to efficiently operate all job‑related office equipment.
Ability to communicate via telephone and work in virtual teams.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and a traditional professional office setting.
Ability to lift 5-10 lb.
