The Procurement Specialist The role manages procurement of electrical equipment, construction materials, and subcontract issuance, aligning with company strategic directives.
What You’ll Do
Receive written requisitions for materials and equipment from project managers and field operations.
Source materials and equipment in accordance with established company practices.
Solicit vendor quotations, analyze findings, and present economic value to management.
Generate and distribute purchase orders per company procedures.
Track and expedite all existing orders; maintain scheduling in the procurement system.
Support estimating by obtaining budgetary quotations for bid preparation.
Prepare submittal documentation for project managers.
Perform additional duties as directed by corporate managers.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
Understanding of procurement techniques, policies, and accounting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle preferred.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks amid changing priorities.
Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and a team player.
Professional interaction with vendors, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
What You Bring to Us
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast‑paced business environment and electrical construction procurement.
Relevant combination of education, training, and experience.
Travel 0% travel.
Working Conditions
General work environment – sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
Noise level typically low to medium; can be loud on a site.
Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
