Position Purpose We are seeking an accomplished

Sr. Furniture Designer

to join our dynamic team. This is a senior‑level role that owns the design process from inception through quoting — including strategic planning, client consultation, space planning, specification, and presentation.

The ideal candidate thrives on both the creative and consultative aspects of design. You’ll collaborate closely with sales and project management to align design concepts with customer goals, budget, and strategy. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to

strategic account planning

and influence how our clients think about workplace design.

This role requires

5–10 years of dealership design experience, strong presentation skills, and the ability to balance detail with big‑picture thinking .

Key Responsibilities

Lead projects from initial client consultation through design concept, specification, and final quote.

Participate in

strategic account planning , offering product and design solutions that align with customer goals.

Conduct site verifications, gather field measurements, and inventory existing furniture.

Develop design concepts, space plans, and furniture specifications that support customer needs, brand, and budget.

Assist with scope clarification, budget development, establishing project timeline expectations, project phasing.

Create and deliver compelling client presentations, both visually (boards, drawings, digital renderings) and verbally.

Execute CET and/or AutoCAD drawings, specifications, color/finish schedules, and installation documentation.

Partner with sales, project management, and installers to ensure a smooth project handoff and execution.

Stay current on product knowledge, workplace trends, and design strategies to bring fresh insights to clients.

Serve as a trusted advisor and "face of OE" in design conversations, strengthening relationships through expertise and creativity.

Occasional travel for tradeshows or branch visits (minimal overnight).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architectural Design, or related field.

5–10 years of dealership furniture design experience required.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, CET (preferred), and Microsoft Office; experience with Spec, CAP Studio, or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

Strong knowledge of contract furniture manufacturers (HON, Kimball, Global, and others).

Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and balance multiple deadlines.

Excellent communication, presentation, and client‑facing skills.

Strategic mindset with the ability to connect design solutions to customer business goals.

Highly detailed, organized, and process oriented.
