Housekeeping Coordinator
Full‑Time 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (willing to flex schedule on a need basis) Monday – Friday (occasional OT and weekends) $19 / hour General Summary
Responsible for maintaining the interior of all assigned areas of Senior Star communities and ensuring the safety of our residents. Basic maintenance experience is a plus. Responsibilities
Oversee the housekeeping staff Schedule and delegate the cleaning of resident apartments, common areas, etc. Ensure that the housekeeping staff completes duties including:
Cleaning occupied apartments Cleaning vacant apartments Cleaning administrative offices Cleaning common areas (excluding dining room or kitchen) Cleaning hallways and handrails Cleaning restrooms, water fountains Cleaning laundry rooms Gathering laundry and changing bedding Picking up trash Cleaning model apartments and/or guest apartments Cleaning elevators and stairwells
Work with the Environmental Services Director/Executive Director to set monthly cleaning goals in addition to routine cleaning Oversee laundry for residents and the food & beverage department Coordinate with Maintenance, Leasing, and Marketing to schedule cleaning of make‑ready apartments Train and retain a motivated housekeeping staff capable of providing excellent service to residents Provide training on safe emergency procedures and work practices Conduct a yearly quality assurance check of apartments Order and maintain housekeeping supplies within budget, ensuring safe storage and training staff on safe use of chemicals and supplies
Order all housekeeping supplies, staying within budget guidelines Ensure chemicals and supplies are safely stored Train staff on safe use of chemicals and supplies
Assist residents, including:
Daily door flipper checks by 10:00 am Cleans resident flat laundry and personal laundry upon request Meet with new residents to explain cleaning policies and schedule Share personal laundry policy with new residents Be available to residents with concerns, complaints, or special requests Report any unusual resident behavior to the Executive Director
Required Knowledge & Skills
2 years of housekeeping leadership experience Professional demeanor Strong work ethic Knowledge of personnel development Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques Ability to take direction and work with others Confidentiality regarding community, business, or resident information Strong desire to improve seniors’ lives Seniority Level
