Job Description Summary The

Sr. Sustainability Analyst

is a highly collaborative role and will develop and support various strategic initiatives within Sunbelt Rentals’ Sustainability program.

Position Responsibilities

Support project execution within key sustainability areas, including waste and water management, carbon emission reductions and energy/sustainability management.

Assist with project tracking, timeline coordination, data collection, analysis and measurement of cost and emissions impacts for operational sustainability initiatives.

Develop and maintain analytical tools, models and datasets to quantify energy use, emissions and reduction opportunities, supporting scenario analysis and evaluation of operational initiatives.

Support enterprise-wide carbon accounting and emissions analysis across Scope 1, 2 and prioritized Scope 3 categories in alignment with GHG Protocol, contributing to internal tracking and external disclosures (GRI, TCFD, CDP, EcoVadis, S&P).

Collect, validate and manage sustainability, utility (energy/waste/water) and activity data across a large, distributed portfolio, performing QA/QC, reconciliations and maintaining documentation to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.

Maintain and update assumptions, emissions factors and calculation methodologies, supporting continuous improvement of sustainability data processes as standards and regulatory expectations evolve.

Prepare dashboards, analyses and visualizations that translate sustainability data into clear, decision‑useful insights for internal stakeholders and leadership review.

Assist with annual sustainability reporting and other internal and external communications by compiling data, drafting data‑driven content and supporting consistency between reported metrics, methodologies and narrative.

Coordinate with cross‑functional partners (operations, fleet, procurement, finance, etc.) to gather inputs, resolve data gaps and support execution of sustainability programs and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Communications or another business‑related field required or equivalent work experience demonstrating expertise in sustainability.

Master’s degree in these areas preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in the sustainability field with a proven ability to deliver impactful initiatives and drive measurable results.

Exhibits “servant‑leader” attitude and willingness to engage with a challenging workload.

Strong modeling, data management and analytical skills.

Strong requirements gathering and project management skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Ability to understand and respond to urgency of work.

Skill in dealing with ambiguity and ability to act accordingly.

Skillful at multitasking, being a good listener and willing to help others.

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Microsoft PowerBI skills preferred, but not required.

Familiarity with industry best practices related to environmental impact reporting, accounting protocols and associated methodologies (GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, EcoVadis, SBTi, etc.).

Physical Demands Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range Base Pay Range: $74,501.00 – $102,438.60
