Role Overview As an Access Control Technician, you perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks to ensure gates and other access control measures of a multimillion‑dollar, multifamily apartment home community are working properly.

The People Person

Document and communicate services performed and any outstanding issues or items to the community management team.

Interact with vendors and outside service providers to order parts, outsource services, or escal…

Develop and lead onsite trainings for service teams in the effective operation and repair of access control systems.

The Technician

Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning gate and access control systems; may include welding, pulling wire, changing bearings and rollers, reviewing program software, cutting loops, etc.

Install automated gate and access control systems; implement testing to ensure proper installation.

Create, schedule, and implement access control system preventative maintenance programs.

Read, interpret, and work from manufacturer‑provided plans, drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current, valid Class E driver’s license.

Previous experience in access control, low‑voltage gate operation or related fields.

Ability to read, interpret, and apply written instructions for repair and maintenance of equipment.

Resourceful problem solver.

Ability to interact with customers professionally and enthusiastically.

Ability to travel up to 80%.
