About the Role We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer with progressive experience to join our team providing program/project management for a central Florida municipal water and wastewater utility. This role focuses on helping the utility strategically plan, manage, and execute capital improvement and operational initiatives across treatment, distribution, and collection system assets.
The ideal candidate brings technical knowledge, project delivery experience, and excellent communication skills, and enjoys working collaboratively within a client-focused, multi-disciplinary program environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering and program management support across water and wastewater capital projects, studies, and operational initiatives.
Assist with project scoping, feasibility analyses, RFPs, alternatives evaluation, and scheduling.
Prepare and review reports, correspondence, and presentation materials.
Support permitting, and risk management tasks as part of the overarching capital delivery process.
Participate in workshops, coordination meetings, contractor and consultant discussions, and stakeholder engagement.
Help ensure project consistency with standards, regulations, and utility goals regarding resilience, capacity, reliability, and sustainability.
Provide limited construction, field support, or site visits, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or closely related discipline).
2-8 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater planning, design, operations, asset management, or capital delivery.
Strong analytical, organizational, and technical writing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with client staff, internal team members, and external stakeholders.
Proficient with standard engineering and office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data tools).
