The

Landscape Consultant (LC)

is a key sales and client-advocacy role responsible for generating sales by designing and estimating landscape projects, guiding clients through the design/build and garden services process, and ensuring clear communication from sale through completion. Landscape Consultants serve as the primary point of contact for clients, and are responsible for collaborating closely with B.B. Barns operations, plant procurement, Garden Center, and finance teams to deliver thoughtful, well‑executed landscape solutions. At B.B. Barns, LCs are part of a strong, supportive sales team with a positive culture, led by the Director of Sales. Job Type:

salaried-based role with performance-based commission . Base salary is

determined by experience and qualifications . Commission is earned based on

Client Experience & Sales

Serve as the primary advocate for clients throughout the sales and installation process. Qualify projects to ensure they align with the company’s scope, standards, and operational capacity. Develop and present clear, professional proposals and designs Educate clients on plant selection, care, and realistic expectations Meet established

quarterly and annual sales goals Project Coordination

Prepare jobs thoroughly before installation, including clear notes, plans, and expectations. Communicate effectively with field crews and operations staff. Ensure deposits are collected, and jobs are invoiced within

3–5

days of completion. Address client concerns and resolve conflicts professionally and promptly. Internal Collaboration

Work across divisions to support smooth scheduling, procurement, installation, and invoicing. Uphold company standards and contribute positively to team culture. Qualifications & Experience

Education / Background (only one of the following is required):

Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture 10+ years of professional experience working with plants and clients Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong working knowledge of landscape plants, including:

Plant identification Mature size and growth habits Cultural requirements Appropriate design applications

Practical understanding of common landscape pests, diseases, and treatments Strong verbal and written communication skills Comfort discussing budgets, timelines, and expectations with clients Proficiency with

Google Workspace Experience with

LMN

preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Measures of Success
