Job Description
Diesel Mechanic – earn up to $36.50 per hour. Full‑time, Monday – Friday, second shift (3:00 pm – 1:30 am). PTO available after the first 90 calendar days of employment, plus an excellent benefits package including employee resort stays.
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Colonial Heights, VA Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day equipment maintenance on our fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and possibly forklifts. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs, trailer PMs, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding (location dependent). Requirements
Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
Ability to handle major repairs.
Experience with AC and electrical systems.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must have own tools.
2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
Experience maintaining Cummins & Detroit engines.
Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
Class A CDL holder.
Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.
Preferred Qualifications Additional experience or certifications related to trailer maintenance, welding, or forklift operation are a plus.
