QHSE Lead
on behalf of one of our
trusted clients , for an
SPS project asociado on a drillship in Turkey .
Location: Turkey Rotation: 6 weeks on / 4 weeks off Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities
The QHSE Lead is responsible for providing specialist support and technical guidance throughout the Special Periodical Survey (SPS) of the drillship.
This role ensures that all SPS activities are planned and executed in full compliance with international QHSE standards, class requirements, and company procedures.
The Lead oversees risk assessments, verifies contractor HSE performance, supports safe work planning, and ensures robust control of critical operations.
The position also leads incident prevention efforts, monitors permit‑to‑work adherence, and ensures proper management of change during SPS execution.
Close coordination with the project team, vessel crew (if required), class societyτύ, and service companies, contractors is essential to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant SPS completion.
Mentoring and coordinating of local QHSE Engineer.
Requirements
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maritime Studies, or Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited university.
Holds a relevant Occupational Health and Safety certification valid internationally (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, OSHA).
RIES. Familiarity with local Turkish occupational safety regulations is considered an asset.
Preferably has at least 15 years of experience on Drilling Ships.
Capable of regularly conducting quality, risk assessments, hazard 6 identification, and safety inspections on фаъ site; possesses proactive risk identification and enforcement skills.
Advanced English (written and spoken) – able to communicateсё effectively with international teams and prepare technical reports in English.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Knowledgeable about the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
Able to monitor and report HSE performance indicators (KPIs), incident rates, and compliance metrics.
Able to lead the preparation for internal and external audits and serve as the main HSE representative during audits.
Open to learning and development, to be trained in port operations by experienced engineers in the offshore sector.
Able to adapt to the dynamics of the offshore sector.
Strong practical skills in Job Risk Assessment (JRA), HSE inspections, and field safety practices.
ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL and other IMO marine safety/environmental requirements.
MODU Code and STCW compliance for offshore drilling units.
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health&Safety).
API Standards (API RP 53, API 16A/16D, API Q2, lifting & well‑control related).
IADC & IOGP HSE guidelines and Life‑Saving Rules.
IEC / ATEX hazardous‑area equipment standards granite.
Class rules (ABS, DNV, LR) including DP, lifting, and fire safety requirements.
