Location: El Paso, TX – 50‑mile radius of the Eaton El Paso facility. The hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The hourly rate for this position is $20.80 per hour. Salary information is a general guideline only and may vary based on candidate skills, experience, and market considerations.

What You’ll Do

The primary function of the Electrical Tester is to ensure the integrity and functionality of low‑voltage electrical assemblies by conducting thorough testing and verification processes, detecting and diagnosing issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining high‑quality performance of electrical systems.

Inspect and electrically test low‑voltage products produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and applicable governmental requirements. Confirm proper function per test scripts, identify any non‑conformances, and ensure the product meets customer specifications, safety, and quality requirements. Document inspections on the applicable checklist.

Perform final and in‑process inspections across multiple product lines to ensure Quality products to customers.

Program controllers and conduct thorough electrical testing of low‑voltage assembly products, including customer functional test scripts and primary/secondary injection tests.

Perform inspections and audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies, using Hi‑Pot, continuity test, and component‑specific testing devices. Verify switches, circuit breakers, and torqued connections per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures.

Use the Universal Voltage Cart and follow applicable test procedures and component literature.

Collaborate with colleagues, maintain excellent attention to detail, and apply strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications Specialized Knowledge

Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, component functionality, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly processes on all lines (Hi‑Pot, Shunt Trip).

Knowledge of all low‑voltage assemblies and applicable UL, NEC, regional utility, and customer‑specific codes.

Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view drawings, MIs, Blow‑Thru, wiring diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 1 year of experience performing electrical testing (troubleshooting, circuits, testing electronics, product testing, system diagnosis).

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50‑mile radius) will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience in a Quality or Electrical Tester position in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in low‑voltage assemblies.

Computer literate.

Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
