Residential Program Specialist (NY HELPS), Buffalo Psychiatric Center, Olmstead SOCR, P26072 Buffalo Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Residential Program Specialist to supervise and provide services to individuals with mental illness who live in a State Operated Community Residence (SOCR). Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

Base pay range: $59,994.00/yr – $76,359.00/yr

Duties Description

Provide and monitor residential program services.

Advising residents on appropriate coping and living skills to aid in recovery.

Review and coordinate resident admission and discharge planning.

Schedule resident activities and supervision to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness (or equivalent education and experience as specified).

Associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; bachelor’s degree for four years; master’s for five years; doctorate for six years.

Eligible applicants may be considered under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program or for a competitive class appointment based on eligibility lists.

For internal employees: eligible for transfer to a competitive class position with at least one year of permanent competitive (55‑b/55‑c) service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1.

Eligible for non‑competitive promotion examination under Section 52.7 if meeting minimum qualifications.
