QA/QC Inspector

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge to determine degree of conformance of materials, equipment and installation of materials and equipment to the company or Client specifications. Performs inspection of various project activities; generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities; notifies management of significant problems; and completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of the overall construction on large scale wind, solar, and industrial projects (roads, environmental (SWPPP), excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking and PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors and other mechanical and electrical equipment)
Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time‑management skills
Plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC and QA data are properly and accurately recorded
Monitor and record all work scope being executed and follow reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client
Prevent deficiencies while working closely with field operating teams through pre‑construction quality control inspections
Detect deficiencies and address them in a timely and effective manner
Work closely with field quality staff as their field representative ensuring construction understands and follows the QA/QC requirements
Interface with field supervision to maintain open communication and report job progress, schedules and subcontractor performance
Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections for transfer to permanent hard copy and/or electronic files
Inspect the work and establish punch lists
Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment
Ensure daily task schedules are met to meet the project schedule
Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel and other team members
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field
OR High School Graduate or equivalent plus 1–3 years’ experience in related construction field
Inspection related certifications (e.g., NDE) preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Take reasonable care of own and others’ health and safety and work toward the company’s Zero Injury principles
Ability to independently perform work
Self‑starter, organized, and possess good interpersonal skills
Read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures
Write daily reports and document project activities
Effectively collect and record field data in accordance with corporate Quality Control procedures
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume
Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
Working Environment
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and extreme heat
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
