Call Center Operator - Oncology (Multi-Site) Join Roper St. Francis Healthcare in a dynamic Call Center role focused on oncology. Working from the West Ashley Cancer Center or the Tricom Office in North Charleston, you will support physicians, patients, and health plan members.

Job Summary Manage on‑call scheduling for RSFPP physicians, serve as the primary point of contact during off‑hours, perform financial reconciliation and payment research, schedule appointments, verify insurance, coordinate pre‑certification for specialist referrals, accept new patient payments, and handle class/event registrations. Provide accurate and efficient telehealth services, including general information, provider referral, class registration, and client assistance. Uphold the company‑wide Customer Services standards and promote quality service.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate on‑call schedules for physicians.

Contact on‑call physicians when protocols require.

Perform financial reconciliation and payment research.

Solve appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and pre‑certification coordination.

Accept new patient payments and process class/event registrations.

Provide telehealth support: general info, referrals, registration, and patient assistance.

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 2 years of recent customer service or related healthcare experience, including 1 year in a call center or telephone customer/patient service role.

Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Typing speed of 40 wpm.

Intermediate personal computer skills; comfortable with Microsoft Windows, database, and word processing software.

Strong verbal and written communication, good voice quality, diction, and articulation.

Excellent active listening, problem‑solving, multitasking, and teamwork skills.

Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful personality; ability to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Work Demands/Environment

Frequent sitting with long periods of telephone/computer use.

Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Requires finger/hand dexterity for keyboard, telephone, copier, fax.

Constant talking or hearing; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

No exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue; limited exposure to infectious materials.

Normal office environment; requires reading and comprehension.
