Senior Maintenance Mechanic, 1st Shift – $8000.00 Sign‑On Bonus!
Schedule: 5:00 AM – 5:15 PM on a 2‑2‑3 work schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, alternating weekly).
New Hire Base Salary Range: $48‑50 /hr.
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic reports to the shift supervisor and involves highly skilled troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and repair of complex electro‑mechanical equipment, including electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machinery, and support equipment. This role is the expert resource who can fix all/most equipment and is responsible for executing technical work, teaching and mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices, and sharing troubleshooting techniques and schematic interpretation. The role ensures the uninterrupted continuity of manufacturing and support systems across the facility.
This position includes an $8000.00 sign‑on bonus ($3000 paid after 6 months and $5000 at one‑year anniversary).
What You’ll Do
Maximize uptime using expert knowledge and troubleshooting techniques with electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, variable speed controllers, robotics, automated packaging machinery, and process equipment such as pumps, valves, meters, and mixing equipment.
Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine the actions needed to restore systems to performance specifications.
Lead the diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment issues, using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to enhance equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Identify and replace defective components, ensuring high standards of machinery operation.
Participate in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
Mentor and assist junior mechanics, fostering skill development and troubleshooting capabilities.
Have welding/fabrication experience; may conduct welding (stick, MIG, TIG) and operate machine tools such as lathe, Bridgeport, and drill press as needed.
What You’ll Bring
Ten+ years of maintenance experience, ideally including experience at an OEM or similar.
Expert in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment and facilities, with working knowledge of mechanical, electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as facility systems (hot water, compressed air, refrigeration).
Experience in food processing required; experience with packaging machinery preferred.
MA Fireman 2 License and/or Ammonia Operator 1 Certification preferred.
Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
Knowledge of PLCs is required.
Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others, and leadership.
Utilize CMMS, identify trends, and use data to drive improvements to the preventive maintenance process.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP/GMP) requirements.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and repair instructions.
Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, and verbal); ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed.
Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, experimenting, and drawing valid conclusions.
Ability to learn new information quickly (e.g., maintenance and administrative technology, changes in controls).
Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Bilingual English‑Spanish skills are a bonus.
