Job Summary The Guest Service Associate/Valet is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The role includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, assisting guests with luggage—delivery and pickup of guest luggage where applicable—during arrival and departure, and ensuring a superior guest experience throughout their time on property.

Starting pay potential $14–$18 per hour with cash tips (actual hourly base pay $9–$11 plus $5–$9 in tips)

Compensation Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation based on job‑related skills, experience, education or training and location. The hourly base pay range for this position is $9–$11 per hour plus $5–$9 per hour in tips.

Work Schedule Potential hours include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Essential Functions

Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers and clients. Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor. Use guest last names during interactions. – 25%

Use the salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location. Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Post up in designated areas when not completing tasks. – 10%

Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. – 20%

Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries. Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area. Delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested. Shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location. – 10%

Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys. Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system. Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle. Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed. – 35%

The total amount of time for all functions of the job is 100%.

Qualifications Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.

Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from the state you are applying to work (as applicable)

Work Experience

One (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Skills

Ability to read and write standard English language.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add and subtract three‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

Ability to understand 24‑hour and military time systems.

Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed.

Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.

Perform parallel parking.

Authority To Act

Job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Budget Responsibility

The employee has control over resources available only.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods of time, including up to the entire duration of a shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, run, walk, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Travel of up to 5% may be required.
