Order Management and Materials Coordinator

Job Summary The Order Coordination Specialist is responsible for managing and streamlining order processes to reduce open order age, minimize past-due items, and decrease customer escalations. This role serves as the primary point of contact between planning and customer service teams, ensuring efficient communication, prioritization, and resolution of issues related to material availability, order status, and production scheduling.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the liaison between planning and customer service for assigned product lines, handling escalations, cancellations, and status updates.
Manage order flow by identifying efficiencies, grouping similar products for batch assembly, and prioritizing assembly benches.
Communicate material issues, quality concerns, and inventory discrepancies to the planning team for corrective action.
Perform cycle counts and inventory adjustments as needed.
Identify and report BOM issues, including items not backflushing, and engage planners and sustaining engineering for resolution.
Participate in Gemba walks and provide metrics related to open orders and dollar value on the floor.
Job Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Education
Two-year degree required; additional coursework in business or supply chain preferred.
Work Experience
Previous experience in order management, production coordination, or related roles preferred.
