Position Summary The SE (Scripture Engagement) Gateway Language Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the efforts of volunteers as they work to translate SE content into the Gateway Languages.
Job Responsibilities
Interview potential new translation volunteers.
Communicate with GL translators and keep them accountable.
Collaborate with IT when AI drafts are needed.
Assign and send documents that need to be translated, checked, or edited to the GL translators.
Keep track of translation statuses.
File completed documents in the appropriate Teams Channel.
Receive content revisions and language requests from your SE project manager.
Provide monthly updates on translation progress for each language.
Specific Responsibilities
Make sure goals and deadlines are met.
Make sure each translated document is checked by at least three people according to Support Services qualifications.
Track translation date and checker information in a report.
Help with organizing materials in Teams.
Communicate with the SE leadership team members for deadlines and goal.
Help translators with SE translation, design issues, or questions.
Education, Prior Work Experience, And/or Specialized Skills And Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Service oriented.
Must have a demonstrated record of being a team leader with the ability to encourage and enable staff to be successful in their work.
Must be able to work with technical people providing general direction and guidance.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff at Wycliffe Associates and our strategic partners.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Must be able to work with Email, Microsoft 365 products such as Teams, Word, and Excel.
Other Qualifications
Has a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and exhibits Christ-like behavior.
Personal missional commitment to spread the knowledge of Jesus Christ through partnering with church leaders and Bible translators around the world.
International field experience working in remote areas with marginalized people is a plus.
Computer literate, possessing a working knowledge of administration and data processing programs, as well as a strong knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be familiar with Wycliffe Associates and become familiar with other partner organizations.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to establish effective, collaborative working relationships with staff at Wycliffe Associates, and other partner organizations.
Must be able to follow accounting practices established by the WA Finance Department.
Available to attend, participate, or lead chapel services by remote or onsite engagement.
Must be in full agreement and abide by the WA Statement of Faith and Practice, WA Handbook, Core Beliefs, Ethical Standards Agreement as well as other organizational commitments and policies.
