Job Summary The Driver position is a safety‑sensitive role that requires a high degree of responsibility transporting staff, patients, and visitors in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Drivers must be able to operate the vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions, perform vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning duties. They monitor parking areas and grounds for potential security issues and must exhibit strong customer service skills and compassion.
Essential Functions
Provides transportation for employees, guests, and community groups to and from various locations
Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment; notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate
Uses the radio to communicate appropriately with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while on route
Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department
Ensures appropriate documentation is completed accurately and timely in accordance with regulations and department policy
Qualifications Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 20 years of age
Must have an excellent driving record
LIC – Chauffeur License, State of Michigan (30 days)
CRT – Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association (90 days) – Not required for Corewell Health Lakeland
CRT – Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross (90 days) – Not required for Corewell Health Lakeland
Preferred
6 months of relevant experience
LIC – Commercial Driver License, State of Michigan (30 days)
