Join Jacobs as a
Estimator – Water Design Build
and play a key role in preparing accurate estimates for complex environmental, heavy civil, operations & maintenance, military & government facility projects. Your estimates will guide design, schedule, budget, and risk decisions across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Review design documents, proposals, specifications, and drawings to define scope and cost impacts. Attend design development meetings and conduct site visits to understand work requirements. Prepare project work breakdown structures, calculate scope of work take‑offs, and assist contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors. Apply construction means and methods, prepare schedules, and calculate indirect field and owner’s costs. Collaborate with design teams to develop the required level of design‑build construction estimates. Develop reports and presentations, analyze historical data, and present findings to project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Proficient skills in current technology (Word, Excel, estimating, scheduling, database software). Understanding of estimating organizational structure and process, including quantity take‑off, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, contingency/risk, markup structures, and estimate documentation. Proficient in quantitative risk analysis using software including @Risk and Primavera Risk Analysis. Experience using industry estimating software such as Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid, and MII Estimating systems. Understanding of project scheduling; ability to use Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. Able to travel to meet project needs. Strong written, oral, and presentation skills. Able to complete tasks independently. Adept at interpersonal relationship building and conflict resolution. Experience mentoring junior staff.

Base Salary Range
$110,600.00/yr – $172,850.00/yr
