Description The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing, controlling, and optimizing inventory across frac sand mining, processing, and loadout operations. This role ensures accurate inventory levels of spare parts, consumables, and critical equipment to support uninterrupted production and logistics. The Inventory Manager works closely with plant operations, maintenance, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain inventory integrity, reduce downtime, control costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements Inventory Control & Accuracy

Manage inventory for chemicals, consumables, spare parts, and MRO supplies.

Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/inventory management system.

Conduct and oversee cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories; investigate and resolve variances.

Establish and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.

Operations & Production Support

Coordinate with plant supervisors and maintenance teams to anticipate material and spare-parts needs.

Monitor stock levels and establish reorder points to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

Support continuous operations by minimizing production downtime due to material shortages.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

Manage vendor relationships related to inventory items, including lead times and delivery performance.

Review usage trends and recommend cost‑saving opportunities or alternative materials.

Logistics & Yard Management

Oversee inventory storage locations, laydown yards, and warehouses to ensure safe and efficient organization.

Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of materials in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.

Coordinate inbound and outbound inventory movements with logistics and loadout teams.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure inventory processes comply with MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and audit requirements.

Prepare inventory reports, KPIs, and forecasts for management review.

Support internal and external audits related to inventory, asset tracking, and cost controls.

Continuous Improvement

Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3–5 years of inventory management experience, preferably in mining, oil & gas, aggregates, or heavy industrial operations.

Strong understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and demand forecasting.

Experience using ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in frac sand, mining, aggregates, or bulk materials operations.

Familiarity with MSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.

Experience managing MRO inventory and critical spare parts for heavy equipment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS?& SENSORY REQUIREMENTS??

Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment (up to 50 pounds).

Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments, including indoors and outdoors.

Mining and processing plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.

PPE required in designated areas.
