Summary of Position
Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured products by monitoring and testing them throughout the production process, identifying potential issues, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with other teams to maintain compliance with company and industry standards, ultimately guaranteeing that products meet customer expectations and are safe and reliable. Analyze quality problems with root cause with quick resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for using problem analysis and root cause techniques, and implementing solutions under tight deadlines (8D,3Panels,5 Why’s, AMP panel)
Weekly meetings with customer to review, discuss and assign responsibility for all frame related issues. Feedback to team of any issue related to process and supplier
Provide direct communication to include one‑on‑one conversations, group meetings, presentations, and reporting to customers as well as internal management
Organize, coordinate and document all reduction initiatives involving management to generate the proper actions, feasibility analysis, cost impact, and follow up on implementation dates, including clean points of every action
Ensure all necessary reports, documentation, and samples are submitted to customer in a timely manner
Responsible to attend all quality meeting related to frame issues/concerns
Managing welding/frame assembly qualifications and generating welding/assembly procedures to help the manufacturing assembly process
Investigating production problems
Using both destructive and non‑destructive techniques to test composition
Analyze engineering designs for welding and frame requirements
Create and submit technical reports on a daily basis
Frequent monitoring of KAGA system for frame related issues
Maintain Transys established KPI goals
Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as, ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949
Always follow all safety policies
Other duties as assigned
Technical Skills Required
Core Tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP)
5Phases, Drill Deep & Wide, 8D’s, 3Panel’s
GD&T- Drawing Interpretation
Familiarity with IATF 16949 or ISO/QS 9000 preferred
Customer satisfaction oriented
Data driven & results oriented
Proven experience with complex data and problem analysis, root cause techniques, and solution
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision‑making skills
Ability to interact positively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and level within organization
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of employee/customer
Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Must be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving
Must be bilingual (English/Korean)
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
Working Experience Required
3–5 years of experience in welding and frame assembly
Must be bilingual have excellent written and verbal communication skills (Korean and English)
Previous experience in an automotive frame manufacturing assembly environment required
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Full working knowledge of APQP process, flowcharts, work instructions, and control plans
Full working knowledge of and committed to continuous improvement principles
Ability to effectively handle multiple activities simultaneously and successfully function in a fast‑paced cross‑functional manufacturing environment
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Regularly required to talk and hear
Frequently required to sit, stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk
Required to use hands to type, handle objects and paperwork
Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder
May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Required to use close vision and be able to focus
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and in compliance with company policy
Ability to work extended hours as needed
Ability to travel domestic US and/or international if needed
