Materials Specialist (North)
We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Materials Specialist in Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin. The position is referenced by L2150.
Job Summary Conduct all supply activities related to procurement, handling, coordination, and disbursing of materials, equipment, and services requested by internal and external customers at various locations and job sites. Activities include quality inspection of received materials, pre‑assembly, kitting, records management, dispatching WE vehicles, and return goods for shipment.
Job Responsibilities
Work with business units, contractors, and suppliers to define and schedule resources to meet material and service requirements.
Order materials and services from suppliers/providers using pre‑established guidelines.
Monitor storeroom levels and conduct a physical review of stock balances to verify balances or adjust discrepancies, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Unload materials, inspect them for damage, and enter material/service data into the computer for identification and tracking.
Contact suppliers and the sourcing group to resolve shipment and invoicing problems.
Use equipment and hand tools to distribute materials to internal and external customers.
Handle, prepare, and deliver materials to various company locations and job sites.
Coordinate the packaging (kitting) and pre‑assembly of materials for delivery.
Coordinate the job site delivery of materials and equipment as requested by the business units.
Order and dispose of hazardous materials.
Miscellaneous Duties
Travel/support to other WEC service center locations as expected.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of warehouse experience and powered industrial truck experience, or an order picker with greater than one year of experience.
Valid driver’s license and meet the company’s driving requirements; may require obtaining an interstate commercial driver’s license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of entry.
Unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets may be required; applicant must satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation.
May be required to demonstrate the ability to perform the physical functions of the position by completing a Physical Capacity Evaluation. Testing requirements: Stores Aptitude (STRS).
