St. Lawrence NYSARC is hiring: Janitor - Trippany Road in Massena

Posted Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 5:00 AM Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Up to 15 hours per week. 4:30pm-9:30pm Monday-Friday as scheduled; holiday work, depending on needs related to the contract. Qualifications Experience in janitorial work preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty. Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time. Must provide your own transportation to work. Must be able to read and identify SDS sheets and various chemical labels and markings. Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies. Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light and heavy custodial equipment. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances. Summary/Objective Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain work areas as assigned. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Use high and low speed maintenance equipment as assigned. Use carpet cleaning equipment as assigned. Trash removal. Sweep/mop/dust/vacuum as assigned. Wet mop. Perform restroom disinfectant and cleaning as assigned. Perform floor stripping and waxing applications. Wash windows. Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor. Practice “Safety First”. Some travel may be required between work sites, as per the need of the contract or agency requirements. Work Environment This job operates in a professional federal building site at the Massena, NY Trippany Rd. Border Patrol.
