ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. is currently seeking a contract Registered Nurse Consultant, to provide medical oversight and consultation for cases involving complex or high-risk health needs of children and adolescent clients within our Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program located in Riverside, CA. This is a contracted position (hybrid – mostly remote, minimal onsite work) for a Registered Nurse to serve as a clinical resource, ensuring that members with significant medical or medication-related concerns receive coordinated, safe, and high-quality care. Working within the scope of their license, the Nursing Consultant reviews care plans, offers guidance on clinical decision-making, supports adherence to medical best practices, and collaborates with licensed clinical leadership to ensure compliance with Medi-Cal and DHCS requirements. This role focuses on staff support and quality improvement rather than direct member contact. Within agency guidelines and professional standards, the Registered Nurse Consultant functions independently and works directly with the ECM Lead Care Managers (LCMs), supervisors, and the Inland Empire Regional Director. Duties Provide nursing oversight for ECM clients with complex or medically specific needs to ensure appropriate coordination and follow-up. Serve as a consultative resource for Lead Care Managers regarding medication management, chronic disease coordination, and communication with healthcare providers. Review care plans and documentation for medical appropriateness and adherence to nursing and ECM standards. Support program leadership in developing and maintaining workflows for medical consultation, escalation, and quality assurance. Collaborate with ECM Clinical Supervisor and program leadership to identify trends, training needs, and opportunities for improvement in health-related service delivery. Assist with the interpretation of medical information to guide care management activities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Provide staff coaching on health-related topics (e.g., chronic conditions, medication adherence, hospital discharge planning). Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review cases and offer recommendations for care coordination and risk mitigation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medi-Cal, CalAIM ECM, and Department of Health Care Servcies (DHCS) clinical guidance relevant to nursing and population health. Support compliance activities related to medical documentation, quality review, and reporting. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall ECM program quality and effectiveness.
