This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems sector in El Segundo, CA, Redondo Beach, CA, Palmdale, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Product Support Organization . The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Other duties include:
- Plans and executes schedules for engineering design package development and release to meet mission needs
- Technical impact assessment, planning and strategy for change implementation
- Gathering of data, requirements development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis
- Acting as manufacturing liaison during build process of projects to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
- Development of test plans and performing environmental testing of Support Equipment
- Testing and integration of manufactured Support Equipment
- Basic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design as well as basic drafting skills to include a working knowledge of solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
- Be completing or has completed their Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). - Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
- Experience with 3D modeling tool.
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of tools (PowerPoint, excel, word, etc.).
- Experience with CATIA and familiarity with the TeamCenter release tool.
- Understand all aspects of equipment development, encompassing all phases of design, including concept and detailed design development, CAD modeling efforts, documentation release, fabrication, integration, and testing.
- Experience with engineering, manufacturing, and development life cycle.
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of tools (PowerPoint, excel, word, etc.).
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and Support Equipment.
- Ensure pertinent design factors such as contractual, environmental, cost, schedule, technical performance, system integration, producibility, interchangeability, and material requirements are considered during development and program execution.
- Ability to understand engineering challenges, coordinate with NG Engineering team in identifying paths for engineering solutions for support equipment.
- Ability to take complex technical challenges and decomposing the information into chart packages to brief to program management & leadership team.
- Experience with JIRA, CPLM, or other configuration management tools.
- Excellent technical writing skills, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
