This opportunity is for a full-time special education teacher position serving K-12 students within a school setting in Harvey, LA. The role is a contract position for the current school year (CSY), running from ASAP through May 22, 2026. The schedule follows the school calendar with 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day. Key responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the diverse needs of students with disabilities. The teacher will develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education teachers and support staff, and maintain accurate records of student progress. Flexibility regarding caseload and assignment locations will be required. Qualifications for this role include: Active Louisiana Department of Education special education certification Experience working with K-12 students with special needs Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school personnel Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students while working in a dynamic school community.
