This opportunity is seeking a Special Education Teacher skilled in supporting students across multiple grade levels, specifically Kindergarten through 5th grade as well as 9th through 12th grade. The role is based in Gaithersburg, MD, offering a contract position in an educational setting focused on delivering tailored instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. Adapt lessons and materials to accommodate students varying abilities and learning styles. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure a comprehensive support system. Monitor and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic growth and social development. Desired Qualifications: Experience teaching Special Education students in Grades K-5 and/or Grades 9-12. Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Ability to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet individual needs. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
