Located in Manning, SC, this full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, running from mid-November to late May. The position focuses on elementary students with developmental delays and mild intellectual disabilities. The role demands expertise in managing and de-escalating challenging behavior within the classroom setting. Responsibilities include: Teaching a mild intellectual disability (MIMD) class of 10 students in grades 3-5, with students having been together for 2-3 years Collaborating with a paraprofessional assigned to the classroom and participating in monthly meetings with special education program directors Working alongside general education teachers (K-5) in professional learning communities twice weekly to support inclusive education practices Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs Supporting other special education classes that serve students with developmental delays and moderate intellectual disabilities Qualifications and experience desired: Active South Carolina teaching certification with a multi-categorical special education endorsement Proven ability to manage behavior effectively in classroom settings Prior experience teaching developmental delay and mild intellectual disability programs preferred Strong collaboration skills for working with educators and support staff This position requires onsite presence and offers an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special needs.
