This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to serve middle school students within Columbia County, GA, for the current school year on a contract basis. The role focuses on delivering tailored instruction to students with special needs, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and fostering a collaborative environment with educators, parents, and related service providers. Key Responsibilities: Provide differentiated instruction and support aligned with students IEP goals. Collaborate closely with general education staff, parents, and service providers to promote student success. Maintain accurate student records and ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance standards. Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices. Supervise students and support various school programs and activities as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in Special Education with an emphasis on General Curriculum. Valid Georgia Professional Teaching Certification in Special Education General Curriculum. Experience working with middle school students in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Position Details: Location: Multiple schools throughout Columbia County, with specific placement in Grovetown, GA. Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. School Hours: Elementary (8:10 AM - 4:10 PM); High & Elementary (7:10 AM - 3:10 PM). Contract Duration: Immediate start through May 20, 2026. Interview Format: Virtual via Microsoft Teams (1530 minutes).
