Rates: $150/hr
Opportunity Highlights
Schedule: Primarily Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM. Call Potential: Possible need for weeknight and 24-hour weekend call (reserved for OR emergencies). Please indicate call availability in your presentation. Team Environment: Work alongside an experienced Cardiac Surgeon in a collaborative, hospital-based clinic setting. EMR: Epic Bridges. Privileging: Full privileges available with an estimated 60-day timeframe. Clinical Responsibilities
Your typical day will transition from high-acuity surgical care to specialized outpatient follow-up:
Inpatient Care: Early morning ICU rounding on post-operative patients, followed by hospital floor consults and charting. Operating Room: Serving as OR 1st Assistant for a variety of cardiac cases. Vein harvesting experience is highly preferred. Outpatient Clinic: Mid-day clinic (typically 11:00 AM 3:00 PM) focusing on wound checks, suture/staple removal, wound vac placement, and pre/post-op evaluations. Tele-medicine: Coordinating video visits with the Pittsburgh Thoracic team to assess patients for local management versus transfer for surgical intervention. Typical Case Mix:
CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) AVR, MVR, TVR (Valve Replacements/Repairs) Convergence procedures and Myxoma removal Pericardial windows Provider Requirements
Credential: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in Cardiac Surgery. Must have proficiency in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Board Status: Board Certified (Required). Licensure: Active Pennsylvania State License (Required). IMLC is considered. Certifications: Active ACLS and BLS (Required). Technical Skills: Proficiency in vein harvesting and surgical first-assisting is a significant advantage. About WhiteCoat Locums:
