Job Description Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Easterseals Bluegrass is seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team! In this role you will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages and supports social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. The lead teacher will design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to the guidelines established by Creative Beginnings Child Development Center. The teacher will nurture positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues while ensuring the safety and supervision of children at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain an environment in which the students may grow physically, emotionally, socially and mentally.
Become an expert on each student's needs, and knowledgeable of his/her family background and home environment.
Plan, create, and develop daily lesson plans that meet the requirements of the designated curriculum.
Maintain a safe, orderly, stocked, and clean classroom.
Provide and maintain accurate and up-to-date reports on each student.
Be an expert in state compliance and organization license guidelines.
Supervise students during activities, meals, and outdoor play.
Foster positive collaboration and relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best care and education for each student.
Requirements
A Commonwealth Child Care Credential, CDA or early childhood education is required
High school Diploma or GED is required
1 year childcare experience
CPR and First Aid Certifications are a PLUS!
Excellent communication skills
Must be 18 or older per State Requirements in Childcare
