Summary Create a caring and safe environment for the children. Must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Assist the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. Observe and document children's interest and progress, and relay that information back to parents. Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs.
Duties
Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmental appropriate practice and early learning standards that actively engages children and encourages social, cognitive and emotional growth.
Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, and communicate the availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Maintain accurate records and forms
Work toward an Early Childhood Education Certificate within 5 years (Scholarships are available)
Requirements
High energy.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
A strong understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check.
Must pass health screening. (TB)
Washington food handlers certification
Proof of MMR vaccine
30 hours Child Care Basics, ECE certificate, (scholarships available)
Bloodborne Pathogens certificate
Must be 21 years old and willing to drive elementary school transportation bus.
High school diploma or GED
