GW Hospital is the only hospital in Washington, D.C., to be recognized for this service line.
Children’s National Hospital, GW Hospital’s NICU partner, was recently ranked the number two hospital in the country for neonatology by U.S. News & World Report. In addition to these recent recognitions, GW Hospital also provides high‑quality care in the region through its designation as a Level I Trauma Center and as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Position Summary This position serves as a knowledge and resource expert for Patient Access Facilitators. The individual is responsible for assisting with the supervision of staff and supporting management with various functions related to all patient registration activities including patient reception, face‑to‑face registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, cash collections, chart reconciliation, and patient discharge. The individual must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the registration process and ensure that the team jelly completes the work in a timely fashion. They provide support to an organizational culture that delivers the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups.

Qualifications Position Requirements Education / Qualification
Minimum of five (5) years of current experience in a hospital admitting and registration department preferred, or a combination of education and experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Associate degree or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred
Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrates sound judgment and critical‑thinking skills
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, and PC and spreadsheet proficiency
Strong Service Excellence skills
Works well in a stressful environment
Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure
