Job Summary The Senior Product Manager shall be responsible for product definition, development and management activities for infrastructure products including Conduit, Dark Fiber, Colocation, and Professional Services. This high visibility position is responsible for driving business success through the stages of planning and execution of product solutions which have a market-driven, customer experience focus. The ideal candidate should be focused on long-term, sustainable, value creation for the business and our customers. The Senior Product Manager will serve as the infrastructure product and services subject matter expert and must be comfortable representing Lightpath both internally and externally.
Responsibilities This position requires the ability to create a business plan for Infrastructure services which will include the identification of revenue targets, definition of the products and services needed to realize established business goals and short- and long-term plans to reach those goals. The ideal candidate will work with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to establish specific product requirements, a cross‑functional business plan which will identify key market opportunities. Extensive collaboration experience across multiple department disciplines is a must (e.g. Finance, Engineering, IT/IS, Sales, Marketing). The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a general curiosity about the telecom sector and leverage technological developments, market trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses to translate those observations/learnings into easy‑to‑understand recommendations to improve company revenue streams and increased value creation.
Qualifications Education & Experience Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field of study required.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience with 5+ years of data and voice connectivity product management experience, preferably at a high growth, fast paced technology company including leadership/management roles as well as that of 3rd party vendors.
Demonstrate experience taking fiber‑based products from ideation to market, including but not limited to Dark Fiber, Data Center, Professional Services, EVPL, EPL, Fiber services, Optical, Encryption, Security, MPLS, SD‑WAN, Cloud Connectivity, Voice, and Web Collaboration solutions.
Working knowledge of network infrastructure and voice technologies (both fiber and equipment vendors).
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the product development process.
Knowledgeable across many functional areas, including product management, business acumen, business development, product marketing engineering and marketing.
Strong understanding of business fundamentals of a product and market (like share gains, profitability, addressable market). Clear understanding of cost structures and accounting principles. Ability to manage operating expenses against established budgets. Interface with senior leadership and help provide strategic direction.
Proficient in advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint & MS Project. SFDC experience is a plus.
