Join Our Dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton Our 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:56 and PCTs from 1:69, allowing for meaningful, team-based patient care.
Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration. Responsibilities: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff. Qualifications:
Education
Graduate from a nursing program Required Bachelors Degree Preferred Work Experience
1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) Additional Licenses and Certifications
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) Required ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) Required PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) Required NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) Required PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification Required Business Unit : Company Name: Piedmont Walton Hospital
