Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays COVERAGE DATES Ongoing coverage beginning March 1, 2026 Open-ended contract based on coverage needs
PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: All ages Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 40,000 combined annual ED visits between main hospital and freestanding ED Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included as part of ED coverage Phone Consults: As required Case Mix: Full-scope emergency medicine
FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 146 hospital beds Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: Meditech Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment Specialty Backup Available: Physician coverage Support Staff Available: 24-hour NP/PA coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Cross-Credentialing Required: Yes, LewisGale Christiansburg Freestanding ED
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES Emergency department procedures consistent with advanced practice emergency medicine coverage
JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Virginia NP or PA license required Board: Applicable national certification for NP or PA DEA: Active DEA required Certifications: Emergency medicinerelated certifications per facility standards Experience: Emergency department experience required Other Qualifications: Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages Cover emergency department shifts at both facilities as needed Manage patient flow and clinical decision-making in a Level III Trauma Center Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services Document all encounters accurately in Meditech EMR
