*Job Summary*
We are small family law firm seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and related issues.
To join our team you need to be intelligent, compassionate and thoughtful and aggressive when you need to be. At a minimum our candidate must have experience with preparing for and attending family law hearings and should be comfortable with handling divorcing families, financial disclosures and custody disputes.
*Duties*
* Represent clients in family law cases such as divorce, child custody, visitation rights, and adoption proceedings. * Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to stay current on relevant laws and precedents. * Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity. * Negotiate settlements between parties to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professionalism. * Prepare for court appearances by organizing case files and developing strategic approaches for litigation. * Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about changes in family law and related legal fields.
*Skills*
* Proven expertise in family law with experience in litigation, and legal research. * Strong negotiation skills to facilitate amicable settlements when possible. * Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw. * Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and compelling legal documents. * Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies. * Exceptional communication skills to effectively advocate for clients both in court and during negotiations. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
