About the Firm The Farr Law Firm is a nationally recognized boutique Elder Law and Estate Planning firm serving clients throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Our practice focuses heavily on advanced estate planning, asset protection, and long-term care planning for seniors and their families.

We operate with a

four-day workweek, emphasizing sustainable, high-quality client service over

volume-driven burnout.

Our primary office is located in

Fairfax City, Virginia , with an additional office in

Fredericksburg, Virginia , and regular meeting locations in

Rockville and Annapolis, Maryland, and Washington, DC .

The Opportunity We are seeking a

full-time Estate Planning and Elder Law Paralegal . The position is based primarily in our Fairfax office, with occasional travel to Fredericksburg and our other meeting locations.

This role is well-suited for an individual who enjoys direct, ongoing client interaction and is capable of managing matters after intake, through drafting and implementation, with minimal supervision.

Training and Experience Prior experience in estate planning or elder law is

not required . We provide comprehensive training on both the substantive law and the firm’s drafting and workflow systems.

New team members are trained on:

The fundamentals of estate planning and elder law as practiced by the firm;

Our proprietary drafting systems, including HotDocs and internal templates;

Firm workflows for client communication, document execution, and trust funding;

Successful candidates must be capable of learning complex material, applying it accurately, and following detailed systems with consistency. We invest heavily in training, but we expect intellectual engagement, careful listening, and a strong commitment to mastering the work.

This position is well-suited for someone who may be new to estate planning but is serious about developing long-term expertise in the field.

Responsibilities Core Responsibilities

Your work will include all major phases of estate planning, including:

Drafting estate planning documents using HotDocs and the firm’s internal drafting systems

Overseeing document signings and trust funding

Assisting with elder law and Medicaid planning matters

Opportunity to participate in advanced Medicaid crisis planning for qualified candidates

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate:

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 yearly
