The NDT Level II RT Inspector is responsible for performing development and production NDT activities in support of spaceflight systems, with a primary focus on radiographic inspection of flight-critical metallic and composite hardware and test samples. The NDT Level II RT Inspector is responsible for performing development and production nondestructive testing activities in support of spaceflight systems, with a primary focus on radiographic inspection of flight-critical metallic and composite hardware and test samples. Working as part of a collaborative NDT team, the role supports part integrity, quality, and lifespan through the application of non-film radiography methods, strict adherence to safety requirements, and accurate documentation and communication of inspection results.

C-Shift

Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM

D-Shift

Friday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements

Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Testing (DRT)

Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders

Perform all required daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks

Document and organize inspection results

Interface and communicate with engineers and/or managers to describe inspection results

Qualifications

2+ years of Level II experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)

Ability to pass Radiographic General and Specific Tests by week 3

Carded by a state or certifying entity (e.g., ASNT, IRRSP) as a radiographer for X-ray

Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography

40 hours of Radiation Safety Training

Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 with a minimum of 800 documented hours in non-film radiography

Near Vision: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16" or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12”

Color Perception: Ishihara 14-plate test with at least 12 panels correctly identified

Familiarity with ASTM standards including E1742, E2445, and E2698

Experience operating NDT inspection and radiation safety equipment

Ability to determine optimal inspection parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations

Experience analyzing inspection data from metallic and composite structures

Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams

Experience with Microsoft Office products

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as required

Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements

Experience working in both laboratory and field inspection environments

Strong interest in Eddy Current and Fluorescent Penetrant inspection

40 hours of Digital Radiography and/or Computed Radiography training

Ability to meet NAS-410 training requirements in additional methods such as UT, ET, PT, and MT

Ability to certify in additional NDT methods per NAS-410

Training in computed and digital radiography

Advanced phased array training

Knowledge of industry NDT standards

Experience in a production environment, preferably aerospace

Experience with automated or robotic inspection equipment

1+ year of aerospace experience
