Job Summary

Formulates and maintains the hospital’s Charge Master in order to optimize revenue generation and maintain compliance with government and third-party payer requirements.

Fully remote position but candidate must reside in Texas.

Maintain the accuracy of the charges and coding within the hospital’s charge master files utilizing widely recognized industry software tools.

Regular maintenance is essential to meet governmental healthcare agencies’ requirements.

Chargemaster staff pursues additional revenue generation opportunities while providing guidance on industry-standard billing regulation and guidelines to clinical department managers and their staff.

Collaborates with the Revenue Integrity and Cost Accounting staff to assist with the charge capture process and cost analysis.

Work Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday

Work From Home: This is a WFH position. Candidates must live within the state of Texas. Additional details to be discussed during the interview process.

Experience and Education Required

Education : High School Diploma or Associate's Degree

Experience : 3 years' experience in hospital billing and coding with high school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experiences.

Preferred

Education : Bachelor's Degree

Experience : Hospital Revenue Cycle experience, knowledge of coding, medical record documentation, Government billing requirements. Experience with hospital information system, particularly Epic HB strongly preferred. Combination of hospital billing and/or coding experience strongly preferred. Hospital and Professional Charge Master experience preferred.

Job Duties

Coordinates, reviews and ensures accurate execution of all charges, additions or deletions to CDM.

Conducts ongoing research and review of all regulatory issues related to charging and distributes to Chargemaster Team and affected department heads. Follows-up with each department to ensure appropriate actions are taken.

Prepares organization for timely implementation of annual coding updates, periodic Revenue Code updates, modifier revisions, and regulatory updates related to Charge Master Data.

Keeps up to date on all new and/or upgraded system functionalities available for CDM. Coordinates with department to analyze, implement or control new applications that effect or interface to CDM.

Research manual claims revisions and claims errors related to CDM in billing process to identify issues and ensures continued accuracy of CDM data.

Oversees internal compliance audits requested by Compliance Officer and/or other appropriate members of executive team. Reports findings to Compliance Officer and/or other appropriate member of executive team.

Maintains current documentation of charge processes within institution
