Systems Administrator – HCM As the Systems Administrator – HCM, you will manage and maintain the HCM systems, configuring and maintaining modules such as HCM, Payroll, Talent, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Reporting, and Analytics. You will ensure the system is up‑to‑date, secure, compliant, and functions correctly while providing analysis and support to the HR department and users of the HR information system. You will lead the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex projects within the Workday application, working cross‑functionally to implement and maintain solutions that enhance the overall user experience.
Responsibilities
Manages, maintains, configures, and implements applications and systems, providing support and troubleshooting incidents to ensure system compliance, security, and licensing.
Creates and maintains system documentation, procedures, and policies; performs complex Workday HCM configuration changes, creates test scripts, and validates processes.
Researches, designs, tests, and implements configuration changes that result in process improvements.
Serves as lead subject matter expert for Workday HCM, applying expertise to maintain effective system utilization and accuracy.
Supports assigned Workday module(s), including managing semi‑annual releases, monitoring performance, and proactively addressing issues while seeking opportunities to enhance system processes and improve user experience.
Tracks, schedules, plans, and executes on scheduled upgrades; coordinates projects by managing plans, gathering status, and sending reports.
Identifies and documents requirements for configuration changes and articulates project expectations to team members.
Monitors project‑related issues—including scope changes—and communicates progress.
Facilitates change‑management processes, developing and executing test scripts, communication plans, implementation plans, and rollback plans.
Investigates, triages, and troubleshoots escalated issues and system outages, performing root‑cause analysis and applying problem‑management strategies.
Manages vendors during incidents, enhancements, or maintenance of the application.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Information Systems, and/or Computer Science preferred.
Workday HCM Core Certification or relevant Workday Module Certifications.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in HR Business Systems, Applications Management, and/or related field.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in HRIS business administration; understanding of human resources concepts, processes, and procedures.
Minimum three (3) years of in‑depth hands‑on experience configuring and maintaining Workday, including HCM Core and other modules such as Recruiting, Advance Compensation, Talent Optimization, Learning, Help, Journeys, and People Analytics.
Strong understanding of HR business processes.
Excellent analytical thinking and problem‑solving/solutioning skills.
Compensation The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $105,322.00 to $131,652.00 annually. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
Additional Compensation This position is eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus.
