Job Summary We provide assistance, support, and encouragement to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities served by HMC. The DSPF role requires high flexibility to cover shifts as needed in individuals' homes and the community, including awake-night or partial-sleep positions.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision and assistance to individuals with genuine respect while maintaining professional boundaries.

Work up to 40 hours weekly, with on‑call availability up to 5 days per week.

Cover shifts at any program location, including weekends and overnights.

Assist individuals with daily activities, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.

Encourage participation in leisure activities and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Provide medical support including medication administration and attending medical appointments.

Maintain cleanliness of homes/apartments and ensure safe environments.

Complete required documentation and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Follow health and safety policies and procedures.

Pursue professional growth and development.

Attend staff meetings and complete required training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Compensation Full‑time, varying shifts with on‑call schedule. Base wage $22.00 per hour for the first hours after training; $24.00 per hour after completion of training; shift differentials and an additional $25 per day stipend for on‑call availability. Eligible for a $1,000 retention bonus.

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years old with high school diploma or GED.

Prior experience as a CNA, PCA, caregiver, DSP, or similar healthcare professional preferred (minimum 6 months to 1 year).

Valid U.S. driver’s license and pass a driving record check.

Must be detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to cover shifts at any location after training.

Strong verbal and written communication in English.

Basic knowledge of technology (Microsoft Office). Willing to learn daily charting tools.

Positive attitude, strong advocacy skills, and ability to work both independently and with a team.

Must pass the Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study.
