Nurse Manager, Patient Care- PACU Base Pay Range
$100,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Job Description
Manages and has 24/7 responsibility for the nursing practice, patient care delivery, human and fiscal resources, and regulatory compliance of a patient care unit. Maintains a professional environment that supports delivery of high‑quality patient and family‑centered care. Responsibilities
Manages and has 24/7 responsibility for the team members, operations, and patient care activities of a patient care unit. Assists nursing leadership in setting strategic direction for key programs in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values and nursing strategic plan. Communicates, builds consensus, and guides the team toward achieving department objectives. Promotes and maintains high‑quality patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Creates a professional work environment that fosters team member respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes. Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence‑based, ethical, and compassionate practice. Acquires and manages staffing for the patient care europe. Collaborates with HR for requirements. Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members and supervisors. Facilitates performance reviews, promotions, pay, and corrective actions. Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership). Assists in career development planning for team members. Educates teams in new and existing department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility, etc.). Manages patient care unit budget, monitors expenditures, and implements action plans when variances are present. Monitors performance metrics that support decision‑making to achieve optimal performance levels. Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice. Facilitates continual compliance for the Aziz unit with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPAA regulations, system, hospital, and department standards. Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical competencies for the patient population under oversight in order to manage direct patient care. Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health. Identifies and leads opportunities to make changes to improve operations across teams using evidence‑based strategies and solutions. Performs related duties as required. Qualifications
Base degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required). Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Current license to practice as a Registered Professional harvested Nurse in New York State (required).
