The EMS Resource Controller is an essential position accountable for coordinating and managing the dynamic deployment of personnel and resources to assure provision of high performance emergency medical services throughout York County. It is the expectation that the EMS Resource Controller will exemplify the highest professional standards and continuously fosters an enriching, supportive and dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

Managing dynamic deployment of system resources

Coordinating unit response to emergency/non-emergency calls in conjunction with York County Communications Center Staff

Assisting with changes to daily schedule, filling vacant shifts

Assisting District Chiefs with daily reporting tasks, including verifying completion of patient care reports, daily logs, etc.

Coordinating with Assistant Chief of Fleet and Technology to manage spare unit logs, vehicle swaps, and addressing real time vehicle maintenance issues.

Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

Education: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: At least three years full time experience as a 911 EMS provider or at least 2 years full time experience as a 911 dispatcher

Licensure/Certification:

Valid South Carolina or North Carolina Driver’s License

AHA BLS Healthcare Provider, must be obtained within 7 days of hire

Must obtain SC EMT or EMD within one year of hire

Nationally Registered EMT certification within one year of employment (if EMT certified) or Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certified

PALS or PEPP required within orientation period

Preferred:

Education:

Experience: Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification

Licensure/Certification:

NIMS compliant with Incident Command/Incident Management in the following within two years

100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
