Job Summary Performs a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation. Performs CT scans as directed. Communicates with the physician and other work‑related personnel appropriately. This position is bonus eligible, follow this link for details.
Essential Functions

Identifies patients and procedures, communicates with nursing or physician concerning the patient, informs nursing of patients that need IV sedation or biopsies, fills out questionnaires for all patients between the ages of 12-55 years, positions patients accurately for all CT procedures, ensures patients are transferred and positioned correctly for anatomy to be demonstrated for best visibility, knows scanning protocols in depth, must be able to perform procedures correctly using the protocol book for reference, ensures studies are done in a timely manner and taken to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion of exam, writes the time the procedure is finished and films it on the patient board, archives films and takes them to the radiologist for reading, obtains appropriate supplies and prepares the room for the patient, keeps the room cleaned and stocked at all times, maintains adequate supplies and linens, cleans tables and trays after each patient, uses proper technique when injecting IV contrast, ensures the IV is exemplary and checked first with an injection of saline, chooses correct method of injection (hand or injector), is proficient in filming from the imaging workstation, performs 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction, responds to codes and other emergency situations appropriately.
Explains CT procedure to patient and/or family member, obtains completed questionnaire, collects proper history and clinical information from patient, floor or physician's office, informs patients and families of all delays, trains co‑workers and students, assists other technologists when not busy in the assigned CT room.
Acquires requisition and checks for appropriate clinical information, charges procedure, supplies and surgical codes when exam is completed, indicates no‑film badge wearing name and fluoro time, adds surgical charges when needed, operates the PAC’s system appropriately and verifies studies before sending to archive, reports equipment problems to supervisor,まり, in‑charge tech and documents confirmation numbers, completes appropriate forms for all procedures, fills out contrast sheet on all patients receiving IV or rectal contrast, fills out contrast media form on all patients, fills out CT forms on all patients, communicates with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam, ensures correct protocols are utilized as prescribed by the radiologist, performs proceduresInitialization, demonstrates recognition of anatomy and pathology related to processed scans, performs warm‑up calibrations as needed.
Maintains competency needed for working in the CT department, performs point‑of‑care testingubby, and follows correct protocols as prescribed by the radiologist.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non‑management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education – Certification Program, graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience – No experience required.
