Cleveland-Cliffs has immediate openings for Heavy Equipment Mechanics at our Tilden Mine operation located in Ishpeming, Michigan. Heavy Equipment Mechanics are responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment such as trucks, loaders, graders, and other production equipment.
Summary of Responsibilities
Troubleshoot equipment issues
Repair and maintain a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems on mining mobile equipment Dash including, but not limited to, diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, computer, and power transmission systems
Participate in safety hazard recognition
Maintain superior housekeeping
May be required to work at heights and/or in confined spaces
Be able to work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance technicians
Work\Component in hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet and/or noisy environment
Minimum Qualifications
Two-year Auto/Diesel or similar degree or certified Journeyman
Ability to read blueprints, manufacturer manuals, and other instructional items
Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment
Must be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, nights, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts
